Nut Shot: Just Another Lame Excuse by Kimbo Slice Fans

This is a response to an article I read earlier today, that I believe has zero legitimacy.

There seems to be controversy surrounding whether Kimbo Slice's fall was a result of him getting kicked in the nuts in his fight with Seth Petruzelli last night that ended in a MMA record 14 seconds.

My problem is that the controversy is only the result of a bad angled replay of the video.

To watch the fight, visit this Youtube post.

The mistake that people seem to be making is that they don't watch the entire youtube video.

Around 4:33, a different video angle is shown that completely refutes this argument.

Although his foot does seem to tap his pants near the groin area, the video clearly shows that the knockdown was undoubtedly a result of Petruzelli's right hook.

This is another prime example of people making excuses for Kimbo Slice. But out of all the excuses I've ever heard, this has got to be the most far-fetched one.

It's time for all Slice Fans to face reality and realize that he's over-hyped as an MMA fighter.

But there are still Slice fans who won't admit the truth and will look for anything as desperate as a phanton nut shot to defend Slice.

Dude, this is exactly what I've been saying!! I noticed that angle they show at the end of the video when I was watching. I'm glad someone wrote an article telling the truth about this false controversy.

I don't know how you can be sure he didn't hit him in the nuts. But regardless, people are overeating to this fight. Kimbo is still a great fighter and I hope they have a rematch soon, because it was a fluke.

Dude it was a nut shot. I don't care how lightly he was tapped in the nuts. Haven't you ever been lightly hit in the nuts before? You can't deny that its not painful.

He lost. He's been WAY over-hyped since he started. They want big-name has-beens to fight him. The scheduled has-been was replaced by a fighter who didn't get the memo that Kimbo is a cashcow and has to win. His getting exposed was overdue.

Any guy I have ever seen get hit/kicked in the nuts has gone down clutching his manhood in both hands -- which Kimbo did not do. It was no nut shot! Just get over it already!

Watch the last version of the video. If Petruzelli's kick made contact at all, it would have been with his toes and more of a brush of the groin area if that. Don't these guys wear strong protective cups?

Thats the stupidest thing I have ever heard. First, Kimbos never fought a professional MMA fighter who comes in at weird angles and has a brain in his head. Second, Seths kick CLEARLY hit Kimbo's right thigh. Third, I love when people just assume something was fixed, because a 205 pound guy could never beat a 234 pound guy in a million years, right? I like Kimbo, but thats more than a legit loss.

It's not an ecxse. He was kicked it the NUTS.

No doubt in my mind. There is no way Slice would ever fall that easily to a simple hook. SLice is a beast.

I have been kicked in the nuts many times and that is the exact reaction you would expect from someone.

      1. He was not kicked in the nuts. As a matter of fact, the kick made no contact with Kimbo and barely grazed his fight shorts. Kimbo said after the show that the kick didn't hit him in the nuts. The only thing the kick was designed to do was to get Kimbo to drop his hands so that Seth could throw a punch. It worked perfectly.

      2. Kimbo didn't fall to "a simple hook" because that punch wasn't a hook. Kimbo fell to a straight jab that landed right on the button. Doesn't matter how much of a "beast" you are, because when a fighter hits you on the button, you're done. It's like an on/off switch, and Seth switched Kimbo off.

This really wasn't an upset. Ken Shamrock beating Kimbo would've been an upset, but the moment I heard Petruzelli had taken the fight, I knew he would likely beat Kimbo. Shamrock was a good matchup for Kimbo because he has almost no real skills left, and Kimbo would be able to knock him out with no trouble. Petruzelli, despite being a "no name" fighter, is actually a skilled fighter. Kimbo deserves credit for taking this fight on short notice, because he HAD to know that it was going to be a much tougher fight, yet he took it anyway.

That was definetly not a shot in the nuts. Kimbo leaned right into Seths fist and added his own 234lbs to Seths punch and caused the blow to be amplified more then if Seth was to connect on his own. The foot/Toes of seth look like they missed Kimbo all together because Kimbo got to Seths fist before Seths foot could get to Kimbo.

Gannon beat his ass, now this Seth kid. By the way Slice fans you don't hear Kimbo bitchin',moaning and crying over getting hit in the nutsack now do you? If he didn't say a word about it ,..it didn't happen. He got thrashed by a better fighter, live with it Slice fans, show some fucking scrot & give Petruzelli his due. Making excuses like that is just pathetic,..simply pathetic.

I felt kind of bad for Kimbo (Kind-Of). That is until I remembered all the hype and all the dissing Kimbo has been doing. This was only Kimbo's 4 MMA fight, but Elite is hyping Kimbo like he is the GOD OF ALL THINGS MMA! And that is why last nights loss was such a big deal for Kimbo Slice. If Kimbo had lost the fight as some newbie MMA fighter, No Biggie right? But I don't even know who the Heavyweight Champ of EliteXC is, because all they ever talk about is Kimbo!!! So the loss was giant! I personally don't see anything special in Kimbo. His look is generic. He can barely utter a word that isn't broken. So EliteXC didn't shoot a toe, or a foot, but their entire lower-half off with that crappy fight last night! Kimbo came out and didn't even touch gloves! He just came out like just jack *** and got knocked out in 14 seconds! I love MMA and have loved it since the 90's!! So I love TRUE MMA! Not this "Let's take some generic street-thug and promote him more then Fador, Chuck and Randy all put together! Then make up stupid reasons why he lost a fight to a TRUE MMA fighter! Can you imagine if Kimbo fought a Top-10 Heavyweight?! Even a Top-30?

Now let's all stop talking about Kimbo and try to let EliteXC gather themselves up and try to make yet another "Created-Fighter". Oh, since their going to go the Stereotype route; how about trying some other, tired Stereotypes? How about the Goofy-White-Guy-Who-Can't-Dance? Or The Mexican-Who-Fights-In-The-Parking-Lot-Of-A-Hardward-Store? Or The Asian-Guy-Who-Can't-Drive? All Kimbo Slice ever was, was a STEREOTYPE of that guy who just got let out of prison! And I'm sick of seeing him! His Thick-Ratty-Beard, Gold-Teeth, and Giant-Necklaces didn't make him unique! They just made him generic and insulting! It's time for Kimbo to either go back to being what he was before he starting fighting for money, or just be promoted as a Basic-Newbie-MMA-Fighter! And not some MMA GOD!

Kimbo could have recovered by going into a turtle position. Groin shot or no groin shot. His inexperience showed. I don't think there was a groin shot. He didn't complain about it he wasn't holding his nuts. People typically hold there nuts in a groin shot.

You have to be blind to think that Kimbo was hit in the nuts. He was beat down, fair and square. Get over it. Sorry to burst your bubble, but EliteXC's golden boy was exposed by a UFC reject.

no nut shot, and don't forget that karate produces some of the hardest p4p punchers the world over and seth was a karate champ and caught kimbo cleanly on the left eye and instantly split it open, good night kimbo

I like the excuse "He did not prepare to fight "Seth Petruzzli or whatever his last name is...he prepared to fight Shamrock". But than you make Kimbo a liar when he stating "anywhere, anytime, etc". Also do you all think Seth prepared for the fight against whoever he was suppose to fight and go "I have to train like I am fighting Kimbo." Also CBS picked Seth because he was on an untelevised fight so they said "how could he possibly beat Kimbo?" and he went out and showed him. Kimbo went out to that fight cocky, arrogant, and needed money to stay in and fight him anyway and he still lost. So stop defending the man and just man up and say he lost!

Why can't some people accept the fact Kimbo Slice is the largest joke MMA has ever seen. None has sucked as bad and got the publicity he has. It is embarrassing as a fan of MMA that a fighter who has no business in the cage is getting most of the spot light. it is a sad state of affairs. An old beat up Shamrock or a whiny Tito should be garnering much more attention than this clown.

Whether or not he got hit in the nuts.... I would have to agree that the fight was fixed. Look, I like Kimbo, he's cool and he fights great. But even ALL great fighters at one time are gonna lose whether by fairness or fixed. I seem to think it was fixed because I've already been made aware that Kimbo was paid half a million dollars to lose that fight. Of course they'll be a rematch, it has to happen so he can reclaim what he lost. That's what makes the ratings on these shows. The great ones forfeit a loss and make a come back to reclaim it. If you even saw the interview with Kimbo before the fight, he said he didn't want to fight - didn't feel like fighting this guy, I mean come on... If Kimbo's taken out bigger guys, then why even back down against a smaller dude. It was fixed. To make ratings and of course for the pay. Plus I also know some guys personally who fight in the ring (no one popular) but even they tell me that's how the game is played. These shows have to make money through cable ratings and ringside.

the idea that Kimbo took a dive just doesn't fit. Elite XC billed him as an unbeatable fighter whose rise was just starting and having him loose this early hurts Elite XC very badly. Kimbo's marketability just took a huge hit and EliteXC will have to find a new cash cow. Also if Kimbo was to take a dive it would not have been to a relatively unknown to anybody but true MMA fans and not not in such a humiliating fashion. I mean there are serious questions about Kimbo's chin after this, a simple jab took him down. Does really smack of a great one on the make who had a bad night.

If he was kicked in the balls and the fight wasn't fixed, don't you think that he would have been yelling at the Ref and Seth? (After he had gotten back up) He seemed fine after he got up and was getting all fixed up. You Slice fans are pussies
