Remember that big 20-year, $300 million deal the University of Texas struck with ESPN earlier this year to create its own, dedicated sports channel?

Well, the powers that be unveiled the name and the logo over the weekend. In a combination of utter simplicity and, well, utter simplicity, the name of the channel will be – Longhorn Network.

Officials say it will be up and running before UT’s opening football game against Rice on Sept. 3.

For more about the network, check out the Dallas Morning News’ blog.
