MMA Knockout of the Day: Pitbull KOs Imada with Flying Knee at Bellator 39

Brett AppleyCorrespondent IApril 4, 2011

Patricky "Pitbull" Freire had destruction on his mind Saturday night when he got into the ring against Toby Imada in a lightweight semifinal match at Bellator 39.

At 2:53 of the first round, Pitbull stunned Imada with a perfectly executed flying knee to the face. Seconds later, Imada was stumbling around the ring, and soon collapsed onto his back in front of a screaming crowd at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

The fight had been semi-close until that point, although Pitbull had already landed some brutal jabs and leg kicks to the 155 pound frame of Imada.

The vicious flying knee would come shortly, securing Freire a championship fight against the winner of Michael Chandler and Lloyd Woodard, who face off at Belator 40.
