Sports bars across the Delaware Valley just got an early Christmas present.

With the Phillies' failure to close out the Brewers last night in Game Three of the NLDS, Philly fans now face a dilemma: How do we watch the Phillies and Eagles at the same time?

For many in the tri-state area, it will involve a trip to their favorite watering hole and many, many beers.

But for the ex-pats, like me, it's going to involve some creative engineering.

Sports bars here in Big Orange country do get the Sunday Ticket and will have the Eagles game.  However, having the Phillies on is not likely to happen—let alone side-by-side with the Eagles.

Thankfully, I too have the Sunday Ticket.  I almost didn't buy it this year, mostly because it's frickin' expensive, particularly with the HD added.  That, and the Eagles play five nationally televised games this year.  But it is my guilty pleasure, and it's still probably cheaper than my bar bill would be if I were to go out each week.

A large contingent of the family is in town for my kids' combined birthday party (my son is turning 1—happy birthday, buddy!).  So, being the resourceful person I am (and adding the fact that I work in television), I'm creating my own sports bar setup.

The HD DVR has dual inputs.  We're pulling one of them out, bringing down the TV and receiver from upstairs, and running the other cable into that.  The second TV is sitting on the piano bench, right next to the HD set.

Plus, we have beer left in the keg from the party yesterday! (No, I don't have enough for the class.  Sorry.)

So it could be a really good day.  Or a really bad day, particularly if we run out of beer.
