Preseason, Arsenal seemed like they had gotten over the crushing feel of being trophy-less for yet another year.

With results such as 10-2 against Burgenland (7-0 at half-time), and 3-2 away to Ajax—which secured the Amsterdam Cup—Arsenal seemed like they were up to the task of putting up a very strong title challenge against Chelsea and Manchester United.

Arsenal, along with Liverpool, have finished 3rd and 4th for the last few years. It should be about time that Arsenal hold the Premier League once again.

But based on the last few weeks, it seems like Arsenal could once again find that the trophy is out of reach. It may be early days, but Arsenal have lost twice in six Premier League games, and have only picked up four points out of their last nine.

Yes, Arsenal beat Blackburn 4-0, and Bolton 3-1 away, and they were great results, but these are overshadowed by the loss against Fulham, a scraped point against Sunderland, and a shock defeat by Hull at home—only the second time that any team has beaten Arsenal at the Emirates.

It's both looking good and bad.

Arsenal, as of the time of writing this, are sitting third, but have played an extra game. This means that theoretically, Arsenal could be 7th by the end of Sunday, if Aston Villa, West Ham, Man Utd, and Hull all pick up three points today.

Arsenal have failed twice to sit at the top of the table at the end of the weekend, both last week at Hull, and this weekend at Sunderland.

What does this mean?

Well, this has a minor deja vu feeling from last season, where Arsenal dropped ten points in five games to drop down to third behind Man Utd and Chelsea, after leading the table for a long time.

But if Arsenal don't pick up the pace, and they continue to drop points where three points should be easily won, then we could find Arsenal going without a Premier League trophy yet again.

As a lifelong Arsenal fan, I seriously hope that this doesn't happen, along with every other Arsenal fan. Arsenal's team is strong, with a lot of young talent, and with injury worries minimal at this time (only three key players are now sidelined), there is definitely a chance that this is just a small glitch in a good title chase.

But it happened last year. So do you think that it will happen again, or have Arsenal gotten over last year's horrors?
