Randy Orton picks up win in WWE Wrestlemania Live Update

Randy Orton didn’t get a punt to CM Punks head, he’ll have to settle for a well-earned victory instead.

Randy Orton wasn’t happy with the card for tonight’s Wrestlemania 27. When he was told he wasn’t going to be one of the top four matches on the card, he was said, according to a source close to Wrestlezone.com, that he thought all the work him and CM Punk did deserved to be a top four match on the card.

And judging by the match he had with Punk, he’s right. His back and forth with Chicago’s very own proved to be the best match of the night at that point. Punk went to work on Orton early and largely had Orton on the defensive for most of that match.

Orton’s knee, which has bothered him in the late stages of their building feud to Wrestlemania, was the focal point of Punk’s attack, but when Orton could he mounted small comeback after comeback.

It wasn’t until Orton attempted a punt to the head and came up short as his knee gave out(a bad sell, by the way, considering how much he was walking around right before that) but when Punk went top rope, Orton managed to hit the RKO and pick up the win.

I give both men a lot of credit for building this program. They both know how to sell it and I certainly hope this isn’t the last battle between these two. I know creative will want Orton in the title picture soon, but they should considering getting it in the hands of CM Punk soon. He’s done a great job and is one of the best villain’s in the business right now.

He could shake things up on Raw once Miz’s title run comes to an end.
