Brock Lesnar vs. Junior dos Santos: TUF 13 on Spike TV—JDS Is Scary Good
I’ve said it before, but Junior dos Santos is my pick as the most terrifying heavyweight currently in the division. Granted, it’s a highlight reel, but those shots he lands on Gilbert “The Hurricane” Yvel, Gabriel “Napao” Gonzaga and Roy “Big Country” Nelson are devastating yet thrown with surgical accuracy.
His ground game remains unproven in the deep waters of the UFC, but he’s listed as a Brazilian jiu-jitsu brown belt under Antonio “Minotauro” Rodrigo Nogueira i.e. he’s got to have at least some skills down there. Combine that minimum with the challenge he poses on his feet and you have one sizable chore at 265 pounds.
JDS has already earned the right to scrap for the title once and the revelation that he voluntarily passed on it to take this coaching gig has to be a little unsettling for Lesnar’s brood.
Talk about confidence—you gotta believe dos Santos would’ve reached for that brass ring had he any concern about Brock derailing him.
