Caroline Wozniacki could not pull off that No.1 magic on Monday against 21st seed and smiley Andrea Petkovic. Petkorazzi did her signature jig after beating last week's champion 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.

Petkovic will face 6th seed Jelena Jankovic or Anabel Medina Garrigues in the quarterfinals. Wozniacki's play is not as strong as it was at Indian Wells. That could suggest that she was tired from having to come directly from California to play a midnight match a day before. She needed to get to the quarterfinals to defend her points from last year.
