World Football Page Goes To The Dogs

I am struggling for inspiration. The incessant viewing of mediocre articles on this site has mired my mind.

What happened to decent sports writing? When did this become a comedy site?

I used to be able to find articles about the latest ideas and thoughts on the beautiful game. The sort of articles that might have some sort of meaning to the future of football. I enjoyed reading those articles and seeing the development of the mindsets and thinking associated with it.

Now, the good articles are struggling to see the light of day as they are being pulled down by the overwhelming amount of rubbish.

There are still some very good pieces amongst all of the flotsam and jetsam but they are hard to find within all that is clogging the football page up.

With so much good football being played of late, and some screaming goals, it seems everyone has been overpowered by the notion to write opinion pieces on the game's officialdom and then bicker over who will win the league.

So many articles of late have been argumentative in tone and the writers have sacrificed objectivity for emotional claptrap.

There are still writers who struggle on. I would name names but they know who they are and it is fairly obvious to all else who would care to read something worth reading.

Regarding the community leaders, I am beginning to find it odd that there are two for the World Football page. Odd, because one is clearly more focused on actually writing whilst the other seemed happy creating "newsbites" at a rate of about ten a day for a while there.

I do remember a time in the near past where I would be excited at the thought of checking the site when a new day would dawn.

That excitement has recently transformed into dread. Now I just find myself wondering what new ridiculousness has reared its ugly head upon the main page.
