NCAA Bracket Update 2011 Looks Into the Ending of This Year's March Madness
It’s sad to say but the NCAA tournament is nearly over.
After tonight our field has been trimmed from 68 all the way to eight and by Sunday we will be down to the Final Four.
It seems like just yesterday we were arguing about which bubble teams would get the nod from the selection committee—now we are talking about which surprising teams could get into the Final Four?
It turns out that the only team left over from last year’s Final Four that is still alive in this tournament is also the team that was probably the least likely to get this far, the Butler Bulldogs.
However after knocking out Pittsburgh and continuing their hot play against Wisconsin I don’t think anyone should be counting them out against Florida.
Suddenly Arizona looks like a real threat to win the whole tournament after thoroughly dominating the defending National Champion Duke Blue Devils.
If people didn’t consider Derrick Williams a possible top pick in the NBA Draft in a few months before his performance last night, then they surely do now.
The team standing in 'Zona's way is UConn, who is led by National Player of the Year candidate Kemba Walker. That is going to be a very good matchup of two teams playing their best basketball when it matters most.
Even though the other half of the Elite Eight isn't set yet, we will also be talking about those teams when the time comes.
So sit back and read up on the last eight teams standing before games tip off Saturday.
