With the lack of any true new superstars in some time, it is looking more and more that Bill Goldberg, a former standout of the Atlanta Falcons, could have been the greatest wrestler of all time.

Chris Jericho is not the answer everyone was looking for. When Bill Goldberg came to WWE he pinned Triple H for the World Title. He had a winning streak of 173-0 when he won his first Heavyweight Championship in Atlanta Georgia.

Could you have imagined Jerry Jones with Bill Goldberg at the defensive helm and Deion Sanders alongside? Chris Miller would have had the defensive stoppers he needed, but Bill chose to go another path into a career he would skyrocket to the top in.

Bill was a diamond for a sinking ship of WCW. He was really the only true star they ever created, and he took the ball and ran with it.

Bill, we miss you. Maybe wrestling's not for you anymore, but you walked away at just the right time, leaving us all wanting a little more :(

  1. There's no way Goldberg was the greatest of all time. Many names come to mind that are better in-ring performers and talkers than Goldberg: Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Stone Cold, The Rock, etc.

  2. You have to realize though, Bill ENDED Bret Har's career with a stiff kick while they were both in WCW. I often wonder to myself if Bill had a mean streak in him and the kick was intentional or not? Surely with all the training Bill has received he could have pulled up short. All the other names you mention are very well deserving to be mentioned in the same breath, but all in all, the speed in which Goldberg rose to the top, as well as his dominance while there, I believe puts him head and shoulders above the rest. He got out on his terms as well. Bill Goldberg.... the G.O.A.T.

  3. LOL ARE U KIDDING ME FOR 1 WCW MADE HIM UNDEFEATED ALL THE MATCHES ARE PRE ARRANGED AS IN THEY PICK WHO WINS DUH.AND THERE IS MORE CHARISMA IN A STEEL POLE THAN BILL GOLDBERG HE IS A STONE COLD WANNABE AND THE ROCK ONLY AGREED TO JOB WITH HIM AND LET HIM WIN COZ HE WAS LEAVING AND THEY ARE FRIENDS IN REAL LIFE .

  4. Goldberg doesn't even rank in my top 10

  5. Do you guys realize that wrestling is fake? I'm not sure, but it's hard to crown a "best ever" in something where no one is really competing.....I'm just saying.

  6. OK anonymous - so basically what you're saying is you can't be the best at anything unless it is an athletic competition?

    You're stupid...I'm just staying.

  7. Anonymous....actors are also in "fake" movies, so I guess we should do away with the Oscars, Emmys, etc.

And Bill Goldberg the best ever? Blasphemy.

  8. Who the fuck cares about some Goldberg bitch?

  9. Hey hey hey, I reckon he is the greatest! He destroyed everyone, even though wrestling is fake. Wrestling has been poor of late since Stone Cold, Thr Rock and Goldberg has left! TNA is shocking aswell, oh dear! And Goldberg is the BEST! Who's NEXT?

  10. Goldberg may have been the best at one point, but even though he was 173-0 before losing the title, he never got back to the way he was. And when he signed with WWE, he was able to win the title again, but not for long. Goldberg's great, but he's not the greatest.
