The Dodgers did not get on the board until the fifth inning when James Loney hit a grand-slam to give the Dodgers their first lead at 4-0. They later added another run when Manny Ramirez hit a solo blast to deep center field in the seventh giving the Dodgers a 5-2 lead. Then in the very next inning Casey Blake added a solo homer of his own to give the Dodgers a 6-2 lead. The last run scored by the Dodgers came in the ninth when Russell Martin homered to deep center to give the Dodgers a commanding 7-2 lead and eventual win. Derek Lowe put in 6 innings for the Dodgers allowing two earned runs on seven hits while striking out 6 batters and walking only 1. In game 2 the Cubs will send Carlos Zambrano to the mound who was 14-6 on the season with a 3.91 ERA as Chad Billingsley who was 16-10 on the season with a 3.14 ERA will toe the rubber for the Dodgers. First pitch is set for 8:37 pm ct. Cubs are down 1-0 in the series they must win game 2 because you surely do not want to go back to LA. down 2-0. So hopefully Carlos Zambrano can give the Cubs a much needed win and tie this baby up. Go Cubs!
