Shutterfly TRIVIA: Pinch-run grand slam

Evan Brunell@evanbrunellFeatured ColumnistOctober 1, 2008

The last trivia question revealed that Tris Speaker, Duffy Lewis, and Hal Janvrin were the last Red Sox (in 1914) to have at least three players with 20 steals or more until this year.

The new trivia question: On September 5th, the Oakland Athletics’ Rajai Davis entered a game against the Baltimore Orioles as a pinch-runner. He would later hit a grand slam in the same inning (eight total runs scored on just one hit, the grand slam). The last time that someone hit a grand slam in the same inning after being inserted as a pinch-runner was a Red Sox player. Who was it? HINT: He appeared in a previous trivia question — not as an answer, but he was nevertheless mentioned.
