NFL Draft 2011: How Will the Raiders Address the Departure of Nnamdi Asomugha
NFL Draft 2011 will see the Raiders as the only team in the league that does not have a 1st round selection. They will have alot to get done though on the day of the Draft to compete in the West next year.
The Raiders will have to take a look at bringing some new cornerbacks into Oak-Town with the free agency of Nnamdi Asomugha.
If the Raiders did in fact have their 17th overall selection they would be in prime position to take a player like Jimmy Smith or an offensive lineman. But, that is not the case, and they will have to wait until the 2nd round.
They will have a few players that will be available when their selection arrives. The expectation that the team could hold onto their 2nd best ranking against the pass would be hold true. They would struggle, but they most certainly would need to get some players there.
Another area that could lead to a draft pick is at quarterback where the Raiders were up-and-down last season. In the 3rd round they still could get a quality player such as Christian Ponder or Ricky Stanzi.
