Will the Seahawks Address a Need at the Quarterback Position?

Ryan Mallett is one of the more polarizing prospects in the NFL draft. He had an outstanding season at Arkansas where he led the Razorbacks to their first ever BCS bowl. However he also has been known to be careless with the ball, which has caused him to drop down many draft boards.

Much of that changed when Mallett wowed scouts at the combine. He threw the ball accurately, on time, and with velocity. He can make all the throws and showed a quick delivery despite his huge frame.

The Seahawks will be in need of a franchise quarterback in the very near future. Matt Hasselbeck is there, but he has been struggling with injuries over the past few years and it would appear that his days as an NFL quarterback are coming to a close.

Mallett would be a good pick for the Seahawks. He could come in and learn the system behind Hasselbeck before being expected to take control of the entire franchise.
