TNA going Live!

As you well know TNA Impact is a taped show as Smackdown and ECW are currently, Smackdown will probably go live within the next couple of months, but since there is so many developmental wrestlers on ECW it will not be.

Anyway to Impact, they have decided to go Live simply because Spike TV told them they wanted them to. And who can blame them, they hd WWE RAW on Spike (or as it was known then TNN, which changed to Spike a year before WWE left) for years.

So I don't think its asking for a lot, many wrestlers in TNA especially home grown talent have only been live for PPVs, and never for the free Spike show, other than the former WWE talent.

I think it will be interesting to see how they cope with it, considering it will be the first time Impact is shown live. And Impact is seen way more than their TNA PPVs, so it gets really interesting then.

They can't start over with entrances or edit matches for anything, because the show is on a timed schedule, going live always presents a problem for any show, not just wrestling so having them do it for the first time is even worse for them.

Mainly because their PPVs are not timed or edited for any reason because of it being a PPV. And you can have anything on PPVs you want, and mistakes have been made before, so it would not be the first time if something does not go according to plan.

Tickets for the 10/23/08 Live IMPACT! broadcast from the Joint in the Hard Rock Cafe & Casino in Las Vegas will go on sale on 10/3/08 at 12PM PT. Ticket prices will be $23, $33, $43, and $63. So go see the show.

What do you think, will TNA do well live or buckle under the pressure?

tna already went live on spike before but it was only a one-time thing... i seen it and for they're first time they did a great job. So in my opinion Tna going live is a must especially when fans such as myslef usually find themselves reading the spoilers, which removes alot of suspense and speculation. so i believe they should broadcast impact live all the time. when have a nip slip killed anyone... we've seen randy orton missing the rko many time but it makes for good televvision... so tna should go live

well ya that is what Spike wants them to do, just like RAW did when it was on, but they are going to try it one more, I believe they have not been live on spike, but on Fox Sports channel when they were on there a few years ago, cause that was when Jeff Hardy debuted in TNA to facwe AJ Styles for the X-division championship. But I could be wrong. I do remember them going live before on Fox Sports, but never on Spike though, unless it was their first episode on Spike or something

where did u get it that Smackdown! will be going live? As far as I know that idea has been on the table for the longest but it's not cost effective to do back to back live shows. Smackdown will continue to be taped on tuesdays

well I do know people firts of all, and second your right it has been on the table, but thye figure that if they do Smackdown Live it will bring in a large audience like RAW does now that they made it live again, ratings were down for RAW so the WWE decided to do more of the Live things to boost profit, I know its shocking though

As far as Smackdown going live goes. I think there is one show schedued to be live and thats the Smackdown before Wrestlemania 25. SD! will never be done live. WWE has taped Smackdown for the longest time and it has been doing fine.

Samckdowns not going live now or never esspecially right now with them moving networks AGAIN! So no Smackdown won't be "going live".

Exactly, they are going to a new network, a network that has no one watching hardly any of their shows, Smackdown would be the only one they have that ould be good, so having it live would be a good move for the WWE and MyNetwork TV, which is NOT shown all over the world and is special order for people outside America. CW, Smackdown's former channel was shown all over the World, so good business for the WWE, if they can do it for RAW, they can do it for Smackdown

If they were going to do Smackdown live then they probally would have done it where "the whole world" could see it instead of MyNetwork TV. So Smackdown would have gone live already if they really wanted it to. The only thing that moving Smackdown from Tuesdays to Fridays would do is mess up WWE's schedule. Raw is live every moday yet it still gets 2.8 or on a better day 3.4. Imaigine if Smackdown went live I bet it would get a 2.4 now compare that to Smackdown ratings right now. What is 2.4? You get my point. It really dosen't matter if its live or not. SD! rating will still be in the toilet and I bet Vince McMahon already knows that. :)

wonderful counteraction Ross. it's why i love you man (no homo though, lol). Doing a show live does not guarantee ratings success. MyNetwork TV is not seen all over the US so it wouldn't be advantageous to go live when all of the viewers from CW may not be able to transfer over to the new network. WWE is a moneymaking machine. Vince wants his money. The house shows make a ton of extra revenue and having 2 live shows a week would throw off the house show schedule. I am sure Vince would love Smackdown's rating to garner 3's or higher but for a show that comes on Friday nights when many people are out, a 2.2 to 2.5 rating is very good.

look your right, viewers all over the world and some in the US don't have MyNetwok TV so they would have to order it for themselves right? YES they would. So with that said, wouldn't you want to see like a live show compared to a taped one, I know I'd rather see it that way, I love RAW even more now, because of them going back to the Live show, with that said, Smackdown should be and will be Live in the future, I mean why not, if they can make RAW live why not Smackdown, no wonder people like RAW more, whjy do you think its the WWE's 'flagship" brand, I know, Its because of the Live format, and the WWE has noticed that, obviously

You can make it live it if you want, but its still on Friday's. After a hard week at work/school no one wants to be at there house watching T.V. Go ahead I would laugh if Smackdown went live and the rating went nowhere. Becasue thats what would happen. The ratings would stay the same and then you have messed up the travel scedhule for nothing and it cost you all that money and effort just to get to the point of making it Live and once again Vince McMahon already knows that and if Smackdown did start making live shows trust me it won't help it any.

What do you spend your Friday night's doing? No one wants to sit on there ass on a Friday night watching T.V. firday is the night to get out and party and have fun. Not sit at home and watch Smackdown. Nothing will help Smackdown until it gets out of the Friday night block. Althouh I can't see anything helping Smackdown. going live wont help and I would laugh if WWE even thinks it would.
