San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks, Week 1, September 12, 2010
The Seahawks' first game of the season rang in with a welcoming roar from an amped-up, thunderous crowd inside of Seattle's Qwest Field stadium.
The anticipation of thousands of fans set the stage for what turned out to be a very good outing for the 'Hawks.
With the exception of a first-down, opening drive interception thrown by Matt Hasselbeck, the home team was consistently on-target throughout most of the game.
Seattle's OL struggled to help open up the running game. However, they were able to hold the 49ers at bay long enough for Hasselbeck to litter the field with short yet effective passes for the better part of four quarters.
Although Hasselbeck only threw for a total of 170 yards, he was able to hurl 18 of 23 completions, two of which were touchdowns.
The 35-year-old slinger also showed his skills on the ground, as one of his TDs came from a 1-yard scramble late in the second quarter to help put his team up 14-6.
On the defensive side, Washington native CB Marcus Trufant stole the show at the beginning of the third quarter with a 32-yard interception and TD run back. It was a key play which helped surge the 'Hawks to a two-score lead of 21-6.

On a lesser note, Trufant also had three combo takedowns and three of his own, adding to an overall great performance by the Seahawks' D.
Another defensive player worth mentioning who greatly contributed to the team's 31-6 victory over the 49ers is SS Jordan Babaneaux: one interception, eight combo, six individual and two assisted tackles.
Writer's note: I will be reviewing all 16 2010 regular season games for the Seahawks. Upon doing so, I will select who I think were the team's top two players—one offensive and one defensive—for each week of play.
I will be publishing my reviews 1-2 times per week.
