NCAA Bracket Updates 2011 Shows You Why Morehead State is a Bigger Winner than Richmond

Prior to an upset over Louisville, Morehead State was not a very well known basketball school, however now they are the talk of the tournament and for good reason.

The Eagles not only made waves with their win over a solid Louisville team but after Richmond upset Vanderbilt it looks like Morehead State could have an easy road to the Sweet Sixteen.

It isn’t every day you have a 12 seed and a 13 seed facing off for a spot in the final 16.

I could understand how people might consider Richmond in the same position as a winner, but to be honest I think Morehead State is a much better team than Richmond and the have a chance to prove that on Saturday.

It will be interesting to see how the Spiders try to matchup with future NBA big man Kenneth Faried. Against Louisville, Faried didn’t have the offensive game that he is capable of having but he did pull down 17 rebounds and he blocked a last second shot attempt to seal a victory.

I also think you can’t expect the same cold shooting from Demonte Harper who scored just eight points but hit the biggest shot of the game when he drained a three pointer with just seconds left.

I think you have to consider Morehead State a winner when you consider that they won their first round game despite not playing their best game.
