A better defense puts them a fraction ahead of Mizzou.

Just not that dominate to deserve a top 3 ranking.

LSU has a bye week before they travel to Florida to take on the gators.

Winning ugly, but still winning.

Defeating Auburn @ Jordan-Hare Stadium isn't exactly an easy task.

Jarrett Lee looks legit, and Charles Scott should be getting Heisman consideration when the season is over.

We'll see after the Alabama game.

LSU could find themselves here for a while until Bama comes to town.

Undefeated but the win over Auburn looks less impressive now that Tennessee played them so close.

LSU remains at number five in the nation, still undefeated, but almost caught the upset bug from Sylvester Croom's Mississippi State Bulldogs.

I am not a big believer in this team but for now they deserve to be number 5. I expect them to lose at least 2 games this year because their quarterback play is too inconsistent. They have looked lazy and uncaring in 2 of their wins and I think their best win is a very overrated Auburn team. Having said that, they have great running backs and receivers...as well as a great defensive front. Two weaknesses: Secondary and quarterback. I do not expect them to finish in the top 5.

They didn't pound Mississippi State like they should have.

The Tigers are clearly not the best team in the country, but they somehow manage to win games. Their day is coming. It has to.

Outlasted scrappy Mississippi State at home.

No convincing wins, yet. (Auburn doesn't count...)
Pete Dymeck #6
The situation at quarterback is still a little iffy but the defense is one of a kind. The secondary is better than expected.
Bill Wilson #6
A good team but how well will they play when they go to Florida. We will see.

Not impressive vs. MSU, but can really look good vs. Florida in a couple weeks.
Nicholas Pardini #8
Despite quarterback problems, LSU still has continued to win with top talent at every other position. Their upcoming trip to the swamp will determine whether this year's Tigers can defend their title.

Plenty of opportunities for Les Miles and his white hat to show just how good they are.
