I love a 1 vs. 2 battle so why not?

Mike Bedgood #2

Will Devlin #3
It seems silly saying that Texas is flying "under the radar" considering their ranking, but this program is in very good shape right now.

Robbie Munroe #3
Texas has looked impressive thus far, but don't expect a blowout this week as they travel to Colorado.

Tim Pollock #3

Matt St. Jean #3
Texas has proved that it is a force to be reckoned with after spanking Arkansas and jumps LSU and Missouri after they both struggled with sub-par teams.

Chad Bradbury #3

Scott Pusich #3
(previous: 6) As I suspected, the Fighting Bevos tried to outdo Alabama on "style points" by running up the score on Arkansas. Credit to them for putting together a good team; however, we don't know if they are better than Oklahoma until the two teams meet on the field on Oct. 11! Stay tuned...

The 'Horns should cruise past the Buffs Saturday to set up a HUGE top 5 Red River Shootout.

Jeffrey McDaniel #4
The Longhorns blew out Arkansas, and now has to get ready for Oklahoma in two weeks.

Over Missouri because they clearly have a stronger defense.

mark scacewater #4
Win over Arkansas tells us little, but nonetheless they looked outstanding.

Justin Goar #4
The Horns continue to impress. Dismantling Arkansas is no great feat this year but Texas is on a roll.

Jonathan Lintner #4

Pete Dymeck #4
Why is no one talking about this program? The Longhorns are completely off of the radar yet the are the epitome of what the Big 12 represents. Three schools in the top four, wow.

jon s #4
My pick at number 4 proves how I feel....the big 12 at the top is a little better than the SEC. From top to bottom the SEC is a little better but comparing the top 5 teams in each conference I would take the big 12 over the SEC. I think Texas will lose 1 or 2 gams this season but they haven't played a close game yet...but they haven't played a good team yet either so it is too early to tell--for now though the Longhorns are #4.

Bill Wilson #4
Colt McCoy is playing as well as any quarterback in the country. I can't wait for Texas and Oklahoma game.

Zach Stevens #4

Ashley Kleffer #4
The pounded arkansas like they should have.

Derek Stephens #4
Destroyed Arkansas and flexed their muscles.

Joe Bleacher #4
Colt McCoy is almost never mentioned despite his amazing numbers this season. Their offense is rolling but it will be a question whether their secondary can stay with OU and Mizzou.

College Football Fanatic #4
Colt McCoy is playing like a Heisman candidate.

This team was originally in my rankings at #4. I already had two teams in line with the Colley Matrix, #1 and #4, so why not go with the rest?

Jared Reback #5
I know Arkansas has struggled this season, but Texas bombed away on the Razorbacks. The schedule is about to get a lot tougher.

John Langford #5

Archie Adams #5
A blowout against Arkansas could be what the Longhorns need going into conference play.

Dustin Delahoussaye #5
Colt McCoy continues to dominate the passing game, but is also making plays with his feet as he scored two touchdowns in the win over TCU. The Red River Shootout may see OU and Texas play each other undefeated.

Adam Lindemer #5
Three Big 12 teams in the Top Five; I'm sure the BCS will love that if the winning continues.

Dan Boss #5

Jeff Johnson #5
Colt McCoy again put up impressive numbers (both in the air and on the ground) against Arkansas. Have the Longhorns seen a real test yet this year? Probably not, but they face Colorado and Oklahoma in the next two weeks.

Jay Jones #5

Scott Redlich #5

Ned Dutton #5

Hector Aleandro #5

Really good team that with a few upsets maybe in Miami

Paul Augustin #5
Talk about consistency: Three out of four games have ended with identical 52-10 scores. Over the next five weeks, the Longhorns play @CU, OU, Mizzou, Ok. St., @Texas Tech. They could be #1 or unranked after that stretch.

Haven't scored less than 42 points in any games while not allowing any opponents to score more than 13.

Owen Munro #5

David Morgan #5
Sure, rank them here. Doesn't matter because they will lose to Oklahoma.

troy korth #5
Powerfull football team.

Peter Fleischer #5
Maybe the most underrated team in the country at this point. They have quietly been deadly. Consecutive games against Oklahoma and Missouri ensure that they probably won't go unbeaten.

Isaac Elyacharshuster #5

Scott Glesner #5
Can I count Arkansas as another nobody that Texas has played, or are they a powerhouse since they are in the SEC?

After struggling for two years, the Longhorns are almost at the top. Despite having their best team since the 2005 NC team, they are #3 in the Big 12. Colt McCoy continues to improve and is looking more and more like Tim Tebow. The ripped apart Arkansas, 52-10; it is the third time this year Texas has won with that exact score. McCoy is looking like a sleeper for Heisman.

Allen Levin #6
The Longhorns cruised to their 3rd 52-10 win of the season. This time they beat Arkansas, which improved them to 4-0.

Tosten Burks #6

Benjamin Crane #6

Chad Haynie #6

Jackson Smith #6
Colt McCoy has looked great all year. It seems like he is poised to have a huge season. If he does, he'll be taking a trip to New York later on this year, and his team could be going to the BCS Title Game. The Sooners are still looming.

The Longhorns put it to Arkansas. They are ready for some real football now.

Lisa Horne #6
Still waiting for the Horns to play a decent team.

Marde Burke #6
A loss to Oklahoma will be the only letdown for the Longhorns this year

Stephen Williams #6

Scott McDaniel #6

Michael Shibley #6
Colt McCoy is the real deal. They are quietly moving up in Austin. Can't wait to see the Red River Shootout.

Colin Clark #6

Ryan Williams #6

Mosang Miles #6

Big game next week in Boulder, Co against the Buffaloes.

Ian Zymarakis #6

T.J. Beard #6
The October schedule (plus a November 1 game), will make or break this Longhorns team. Win out, you're my number 1.

Wes O'Donnell #6

Derrek Croney #6
Folks in Atlanta and Louisville send a collective "thank you" for the beatdown the 'Horns laid on Bobby Petrino's Razorbacks.

Jesse Monday #6
This team is playing too well to not be talked about.

Josh Rosenberg #6
Colt Mcoy might be the next Colt Brennan

Shaun Ahmad #6

Trey Bradley #7
Seriously, when did Colt McCoy become such a running back?

Will Chambers #7
Longhorns are scoring big points, but I suspect an upset is in their near future.

Sure the Horns have looked good, but they've gotta have a real win to do any climbing.

Nicholas Pardini #10
Texas may be one of the most over ranked teams in the nation. They are unbeaten, but they have not played anyone of any merit either. The Big XII season will expose Texas's suspect secondary and an interception prone Colt McCoy.
