Graham Harrel is putting up Heisman numbers and with a reciever like Michael Crabtree who knows what the Red Raiders could do with a tough Big 12 schedule.
Derek Stephens #5
Look out for this team, they're a sleeper.

Despite their great offense, Texas Tech still has an unproven defense. That side of the ball will determine whether the Red Raiders win anywhere between 8-12 games.
troy korth #6
Going to find out how good this team is coming up soon.

Jeffrey McDaniel #7
See Missouri.
Michael Cline #7
Allen Levin #7
The Red Raiders had a bye week, but have a very tough upcoming schedule that includes No. 1 Oklahoma.

Texas Tech runs a very pass happy offense with Graham Harrell. I don't think he's an amazing QB because of his inflated stats, he has the tools to lead this team down the stretch. After three easy games against Kansas State, Nebraska, and Texas A&M, the Red Raiders face Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma State, and Oklahoma. Defense is a slight concern and if a team shuts down Harrell, it won't be pretty. Still, they are fun to watch. Mike Leach is a very entertaining coach to listen to... just thought I'd throw that out there.

The fourth BIG XII team in the top ten? Wow! Remember though, only one can come away undefeated. Sitting at number seven is not a bad thing now with the way top teams have been falling.
mark scacewater #7
Probably the only pretender in the top 7, but their offense is fun to watch.

Can they keep up the great offense and still win games in the tough Big XII south?
Colin Clark #7
I think there is rule written down somewhere that you can't put Texas Tech in front of Texas. Ever.
Mike Bedgood #7
Wes O'Donnell #7
David Morgan #7
Still love their offense (Crabtree is a stud)
Owen Munro #7

The Red Raiders are allowing 16 points a game. Yes, the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Uncle Rico Touchdown Mountain #7
Archie Adams #8
Texas Tech falls into the same problem as every other Big 12 teams in the top ten; they have to play each other.
Jackson Smith #8
One of the most explosive offenses in the country. Outside chance of winning the Big 12.
Adam Lindemer #8
How many Big 12 teams will wind up in the final Top Ten?
Hector Aleandro #8
Trey Bradley #8
The top10 is loaded with Big12 teams because they haven't played each other yet. There's no way OU, Mizzou, Texas and Tech can all be top10 teams at the end of the year.

No real competition to-date...TTU could be all sizzle, no steak.
Dan Alexandre #8
Bryan Gonzalez #8
tough schedule ahead
T.J. Beard #8
Four games and already over 1,500 yards for Harrell. Are they even bothering recruiting running backs down there anymore? Is there a point?
Bill Wilson #8
They pass and pass and pass some more.
Ashley Kleffer #8
I don't think they'll stick around. Big 12 South is too tough.
College Football Fanatic #8
It's kind of a shame that the year that they have the best TTU football team in nearly 35 years that they may finish third in the Big 12 South because of Oklahoma and Texas.

Big XII is going to ahve to weed some teams out. This may be more competitive than the SEC.
Peter Fleischer #8
They don't face a real conference test until October 25th against Kansas. Until then, we won't actually know how good the Red Raiders are.
Billy Williamson #8
Avinash Kunnath #8

9th in the country, 3rd in the division. Tough sledding around these parts for the Red Raiders.

The Red Raiders haven't played anybody yet. Their first three conference games are their easier conference games. We won't know if this team is good until Thanksgiving.
Jonathan Lintner #9
Pete Dymeck #9
The defense has been better but what is not to like about a team that can dump 55 points on anyone in the nation?
jon s #9
What can you say? Best offense in college probably...well passing offense at least. There are two teams standing in Texas Tech's way... Texas and Oklahoma... if they get by them both by the end of the entire season they deserve a shot for the title no doubts. Chances are though thy will lose to one or both of them and maybe stub their toe against a lesser team too. Great offense but not sold on the defense.
Mosang Miles #9
Still waiting for them to beat somebody real.
Ian Zymarakis #9
They can score
Joe Bleacher #9
Another offensive powerhouse from the Big XII. Has not had a tough test yet but has looked solid.
Josh Rosenberg #9
Graham Harrel passing to Michael Crabtree for 10000+ touchdowns a game is just starting to get boring. Their defense is looking surprisingly GOOD. They need to get upset soon.

Pretty disappointing so far for an undefeated.
Marde Burke #13
Sorry, there's just too much talent ahead of these guys and with a lopsided defense the offense will get shut down eventually.

I still don't trust the Red Raiders to be consistent enough to give them a top 10 ranking...prove me wrong.
Benjamin Crane #14
Jay Jones #14
Will Shelton #14
Still waiting to see them prove it this season on a consistent basis.
Scott Pusich #14
(previous: 14) Would have dropped a place, but stay at #14 (see #7 and #10). The Fightin' Leaches face their first legitimate opponent of the season this weekend @ Kansas State.
Justin Goar #14
Lots of Big 12 teams knocking on the Top Ten door. The Red Raiders are one of those teams trying to get in.
Mark Balhoff #16
Jayson Stock #18
Yes I put the Raiders down here because they need to earn some repect before they can be rated higher. They may not win this weekend at K-State.
Brad Shipley #18
This team is about to go through the meat grinder, maybe they'll come out whole on the other side.
James Doker #20
Against a completely empty schedule, the Red Raiders have done everything asked of them; unfortunately, that still gives them roughly zero credibility.
