The Southwest Region pits two top conference teams against each other as the No. 7 seeded Texas A&M Aggies take on the No. 10 seeded Florida State Seminoles in the second round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament.

The game is scheduled for Friday at 4:10 EST at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, and will be televised nationally on TBS.

The higher-seeded Aggies are definitely on upset alert, as our NCAA Tournament odds have the Seminoles favored by one point.

To help you make the best NCAA Tournament predictions, I have taken the time to breakdown how each team got to the tournament, plus my prediction on who will win this game.

Texas A&M

The Aggies won't wow you with their offensive attack, as sophomore Khris Middleton (14.4 ppg) and junior David Loubeau (11.6 ppg) are the only two players who average double figures. While Middleton has shown the ability to be a difference maker, the Aggies are at their best when they move the ball around to get good shots.

Defensively, the Aggies were a strong unit, allowing just 61 points per game this season. They play a physical man-to-man defense that gets the job done, but they lack a true dominant defender in the paint.

Texas A&M finished with an overall record of 24-8 and were 10-6 in Big 12 play. The Aggies beat Missouri twice and Kansas State once, but failed in three attempts against the top teams in Texas and Kansas, including a 70-58 loss to Texas in the Big 12 Tournament.

The Aggies went 14-1 in non-conference play, but didn't exactly play a real challenging schedule. Their two most impressive wins came against Temple and Washington, and both also received No. 7 seeds in the tournament.

Florida State

The Seminoles have been without their leading scorer, Chris Singleton, for the last six games as he suffered a broken foot late in the year, but the 6'9" junior is expected to play against Texas A&M. Singleton averaged 13.8 points and 7.1 rebounds a game this season, and is the only player outside of senior point guard Derwin Kitchen (10.1 ppg) who averaged more than 10 points a game.

Not only is Singleton the Seminoles' best offensive player, he is one of the nation's premier defenders and a big reason why Florida State led the ACC in field goal percentage defense and blocked shots.

Florida State comes in 21-10 overall and were 11-5 in ACC play. Their biggest win of the season came on Jan. 12, when they beat then-No. 1 Duke 66-61. The Seminoles also nearly beat North Carolina late in the year without Singleton, losing by just two points at home.

While the Seminoles played a tougher non-conference schedule with the likes of Florida, Ohio State and Butler, they lost all three of those games and didn't beat a single team who made the tournament.

My Prediction - Texas A&M Wins: While the Seminoles get Singleton back for this game, he won't be the same player he was before breaking his foot and you have to question his game-shape coming into the tournament. I look for the Aggies to pull out a win in a defensive showdown on Friday and advance to the round of 32.

I hope you enjoyed my NCAA Tournament picks for this game, and good luck with your 2011 NCAA Tournament contests.
