(previous: 1) No excuses for the Trojans; they just didn't have the same level of intensity as the Beavers. They've had challenges on the road before, but for some reason Corvallis seems to present a particularly tough challenge. With the loss, the home games against #19 Oregon (next week) and #17 Cal (on Nov. 8) increase in relevance. 2nd-highest ranked team with a loss (2-1).

USC shocking loss at Oregon State spells trouble for the Trojans, but they are not out of the national title hunt. With the nation's best defense and their only road challenge being at Arizona, USC can easily run the table. Pete Carrol, however, needs to be able to keep his players motivated against inferior teams.

Ok, so they were stunned by Oregon State in a 27-21 loss, but they're still National Title contenders.

Dustin Delahoussaye #10

Paul Augustin #10
Though not out of the national title race, they will be if the defensive line plays like they did against Oregon State again.

Will Chambers #10
Upset AGAIN at Oregon State, but still a dangerous team by any standards

Joe Barton #10
The Trojans were upset for the second year in a row by a conference foe. Oregon State came up with the huge victory knocking the Trojans off their seemingly easy root to Dolphin Stadium this January. There was an open road all the way to Miami, but USC couldn't watch out for the trap game. Despite this, USC still has a chance to make it (cite 2007). Mark Sanchez probably lost the Heisman, but he is one of the most talented QBs in college football. With a stable of RBs, they have a very balanced offense. The defense is typically dominating and will find its way back to form. Ray Maualuga is probably the best defensive player in college football. I have no doubt that Pete Carroll will have this team turned around.

Justin Goar #10
They should drop further than this, but I feel generous today. The Trojans have to run the table to be in title talks otherwise it's the Rose Bowl again for the Men of Troy.

Michael Shibley #10
Don't bury the Trojans yet, still loaded and can be National Champs.

Ryan Williams #10

Mosang Miles #10

Bill Wilson #10
Lost a tough game on the road now to see how they bounce back.

troy korth #10
Another unexplainable loss. Same old USC. Great team that does not show up every week.

Peter Fleischer #10
The fact that they can lose this early and only fall this far just shows how few quality one loss teams there are in the country right now.

Derrek Croney #10
Now the Men of Troy know they have to bring their "A" game for 4 quarters -- not 2.

Jayson Stock #10
The Trojans will have a hard time moving up from here, since their conference is almost the worst in the nation.

Shaun Ahmad #10

Benjamin Crane #11

Archie Adams #11
If they get down on themselves, they could loose the next two.

Scott Redlich #11

Brett Lissenden #11

Tim Pollock #11

jon agrelius #11

Colin Clark #11
USC's loss looked worse then Georgia's. If you want to argue... well, you are wrong.

T.J. Beard #11
The Trojans may be a better football team than the Bulls, but I cannot justify putting a 2-1 team in front of a 5-0 one.

Ian Zymarakis #11
