Auburn's win against Tennessee wasn't exactly impressive but in a week like this, you take it and run.

As bad as the offense looks, the defense is one of the best in the nation.

Defense is winning so far, but when will the offense show up?

While the Auburn Tigers are more gritty than flashy, we love what they can bring to the table, despite having an unsettled situation behind center. While they could still lose a game or two with their remaining schedule, they could end up being the 2008 version of the 2007 Georgia Bulldogs.

Should be ranked the highest one loss team.

Unimpressive against Tennessee. If not for a giftwrapped TD, the Tigers lose.

Back in the win column after the LSU loss. They weren't that impressive over Tennessee, but they got it done.

One loss to LSU doesn't kill you. Now, a loss to Vandy this week will! Plus, your offense is awful Tigers, pick it up and make a season out of what is left!

These guys will win a big game againt Georgia or Alabama

They beat the lowly Volunteers 14-12. They need to prove their rank by beating Vanderbilt next weekend.

Squeaked by a questionable Tennessee team, but a win is a win.
Jackson Smith #13
Offense has yet to find an identity. They should have enough players to compete in the SEC. Streak of wins against the Tide could end this season.

Tommy Tuberville knows how to win, and they still are an elite team in the country.

(previous: 17) Jump a few spots with a lucky 14-12 win on the road against Tennessee, and the fact that so many teams above them lost. The "War Eagers" still create more questions than answers each week about their legitimacy, though. Could go down with a thud @ #16 Vandy this weekend, or they could spank the Commodores and move further up the polls. A riddle wrapped inside an enigma; the number 13 suits them fine. 5th-highest ranked team with a loss (4-1).
Michael Shibley #13
They are lucky Tennessee had a worse offense than they did.
Joe Bleacher #13
The offense is starting to gel and they are producing more yards. The defense has been stout outside of the 2nd half meltdown to LSU.

I hope an offense develops on the Plains or the Tigers will stumble at season's end.
Archie Adams #14
The offense still doesn't look good, only having scored eight offensive touchdowns in their first five games.

The only reason why this team is this high is because of their defense. I am still not even sure if they should be this high. This in my opinion, is the most overrated team in the country and I believe the only reason they are this high is because of the SEC's reputation and because the bottom of the top 25 is so messy and weak that they have to be this high. Their offense is pathetic but their defense is solid. Their best win is Southern Miss who they beat 27-13...that is not impressive at all. Following that game they beat a fairly weak Miss. St. team 3-2...at home. And last week they beat a sad Tennessee team 14-12. Give it a few more weeks and this team will be ranked in the low 20's high teens at best.

Auburn continues to look unimpressive after three lackluster games (3-2 over MSU, losing to LSU, and scraping by a 1-3 Tennessee team), while continuing to struggle on offense. Auburn is on its way to its first Iron Bowl loss since 2001.
