Now that we are firmly in the middle of march, the NCAA basketball tournaments have been set. Most of us have begun filling out brackets for the NCAA Tournament after watching it closely, yet some may also be watching the NIT to see if snubs such as Colorado or Alabama can win out.
If neither of those are your fancy and you would much rather watch mid-major teams that are just playing for the love of the game— players who know they won't go to the NBA—then we have another good tournament for you, the CollegeInsider.com Tournament, or the CIT.
The CIT is composed of 24 teams that were not invited to the NCAA nor the NIT. Most of them are from mid-major conferences, such as the MAC or Horizon, though a Conference USA team did manage to slip in.
Who are the 24 teams that have been invited to the tournament? Which team is the front-runner to win the CIT? All this will be listed below.
I will also note that the first 12 play-in games will be played, then the final 12 teams will be seeded. As a result, for now you don't have to worry about seeds or ranks; just go ahead and enjoy the games.
