NCAA Tournament 2011 March Madness Now has a Voice

CBS is going to have some broadcasting help with the 2011 NCAA Tournament. Joining CBS in broadcasting first round games will be tru TV, TBS and TNT.

I have to be honest with you. I have never even heard of tru TV until now. I hope it is included in my cable package, and if it is it will soon be on my favorites list.

The addition of TBS and TNT to the broadcast are certainly welcome. That is just more of an opportunity to listen to Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley talk about basketball in between cracking jokes on each other and everyone else.

Let's face it, you don't have to be Celine Dion to make the tournament interesting. What? You're not a Celine fan?

Anyway, I digress. Here is who will be calling the first round action

Bringing us the action from the Washington DC pod will be Tim Brando and Mike Gminski.

Coming to us live from Tampa will be Ian Eagle and Jim Spanarkel.

Calling the games from a mile in the sky is the veteran crew Verne Lundquist and Bill Raftery.

We get the three stooges in Tuscon Kevin Harlan, Reggie Miller and Dan Bonner.

Drawing Tuscon desert duties are NBA veterans, Marv "Yes" Albert and Steve Kerr.

Down home in Charlotte is the championship crew, Jim Nantz and Clark Kellogg.

From the windy city we have the no name crew of Spero Dedes and Bob Wenzel.

Helping Cleveland forget about NBA basketball will be Gus Johnson and Len Elmore.

I know Jim Nantz is CBS go to guy, but I gotta tell you, he just doesn't do much for me in basketball. I can he him call my shots when I go golfing and every time I see an Azalea, but he is just a little to laid back for me on the basketball court.

If I am picking a game to listen to out of this group, I am going with Gus Johnson and Len Elmore. Elmore is solid, but it is Johnson that really gets me revved up for college hoops.

He brings so much excitement he could almost make soccer interesting to an American.
