Herbstreit Packing Bags, Still Devoted To Buckeyes

The former Ohio State quarterback and team captain, has made no secret about his love for everything and anything that has to do with his alma mater.

But Herbstreit has revealed that the objectivity he displays on national television isn't exactly received well by some locals.

As a result, the college football analyst made a shocking announcement via Twitter before the weekend (@K_Herbstreit): "Movin to Tennessee today. Will miss Columbus, but my family excited to get to Nashville. We'll always be Buckeyes."

Outlash from what he calls a "vocal minority" of Buckeye fans has actually driven him away from Ohio.

"Nobody loves Ohio State  more than me," Herbstreit told the Columbus Dispatch. "I still have a picture of Woody Hayes and my dad (Jim, a former OSU player) in my office, and nobody will do more than I do for the university behind the scenes.

Sounds like Herbstreit is genuinely concerned for the safety of his family getting grief from "relentless" fans.

That, or he's got something brewing in Tennessee.

Back in 2009, Herbstreit got into a dispute with the IRS because of a challenged $330,000 tax deduction on a house he ultimately donated.

If any of that ill-will between Herbstreit and the IRS is still around, he could finding solace in Tennessee because of the tax break, per Matt Hinton of Yahoo!
