SEC Basketball Tournament: Day Two Live Blog

Day two at the SEC Tournament gives us some nice matchups.
First we have Georgia against Alabama. Many feel this is an NCAA elimination game. I think both teams should be in the tournament regardless, but the loser will be sweating Selection Sunday.
In the second game we have Ole Miss and Kentucky. These two played a barn burner in the first meeting with Chris Warren hitting a buzzer-beater for the win. Look for UK to get revenge today.
The game of the day could be the third game between Tennessee and Florida. The Gators won two nail biters against the Vols this year. It's tough to beat a team three times in a season. The Vols could cement their NCAA bid with a win today. Florida wants this SEC Championship to go along with their regular season title. This will be a good one.
In the nightcap we have Vanderbilt and Mississippi State. These two teams played a good one earlier this year. MSU needs to win the whole thing to make the NCAAs. They have talent capable of doing it. Renardo Sidney can take a game over. John Jenkins of Vandy is a bit banged up. Whether he can go tonight and be effective might determine Vandy's fate.
Threes continue to rain in the Georgia Dome. Even the big fella Sidney is knocking them down. His second of the game ties it a 76-76 with just over 2:00 to go. Jenkins is fouled attempting to shoot a three and will go to the line to shoot three free throws.
He hits them all. Sidney gets a bucket.Vandy by one. Jenkins for THREE! AND HE'S FOULED!! A FOUR POINT PLAY!! VANDY BY FIVE!!

MSU gets on a roll. Dee Bost drains a couple of free throws and a deep three. Dogs lead by two.
Action getting fast and furious now as both teams are draining threes. Dogs up by two at the under 8:00 break 62-60. Renardo Sidney appears to be shaken up. This game looks like it will go down to the wire. It's been a fun game so far.
Vandy starts the second half with a bucket by Ezeli to tie the score at 38-38.
Miss St cannot buy a bucket and Vandy is tearing it up. Vandy gets a three from Jenkins to go up 45-38.
MSU goes on a 4-0 run to cut it to 3 at 45-42. An offensive foul on Vandy gives it back to the Dogs. Just under 15:00 to play. Bost gets his shot block Vandy run out. TAYLOR FLUSHES IT!! 47-42.
Benock for THREE! Taylor with another JAM! 49-45 Vandy! 13:00 to go.
There are four games to go in the SEC Tournament. Mississippi State must win three of them if they want to go to the Big Dance. Right now they are in a battle with Vanderbilt. The first half has been a see saw battle with several lead changes.
Dee Bost hit a runner at the halftime buzzer to give the Bulldogs a two point lead at the half.

Billy Donovan and the Gators are awesome! Tennessee hung tough but the Gators just had too much. When Kenny Boynton hit the three to tie it at 44-44, I knew UT was in trouble. Boynton gets going and he takes over a game. 10-10 from the foul line. He is a money payer. Macklin, Tyus and Parsons came up big in the paint. A great job from the Gators!
Ole Miss gets a bucket and a stop. Ole Miss ball down three. Time out. Offensive foul.
UK ball. Miller with a big bucket.
Warren hits a three. TWO POINT GAME! Liggins with a HUGE BUCKET!

Heartbreaker for Ole Miss. Warren has three three pointers rim out in the last few minutes. The kid just didn't have it today!

Ole Miss continues to kill itself at the line as Henry misses the front of a one and one. The teams then swap baskets. Ole miss finally gets a rebound. They have the ball down by six. Nelson goes to the line for a one and one. He gets one of two. Free throw shooting is killing Ole Miss.
64-59 UK. Kats have the ball. Knight misses a three. Warren's three rims out. Knight misses another. Warren travels. Warren is not having his typical game. If he was Ole Miss would be winning.
UK is in huge foul trouble. Ole Miss hits two free throws. 64-61. Knight hits a big shot for the Kats. Warren still cannot buy one.
UK up 66-61 at the under 4:00 break
Harrellson with a jam for UK. Nelson hits a three. Two point game. Miller with a nice little hook. Nelson misses a three. Ball out of bounds to Ole Miss with 11:00 to go. UK up by four.
Ole Miss misses two free throws. Kentucky makes two. UK by 6. Henry Hits and gets fouled. He misses at the line. Warren then misses a three. Lamb drives, hits and is fouled. 59-53. He hits his free throw. UK by seven.
Warren drives and draws the foul. Jones and Liggins both with four fouls now. Warren drives, misses. Nelson drives and gets fouled. Ole Miss killing itself at the line. 60-56 UK.
UK will shoot a one and one. Jones misses. UK steal. Bucket. Warren misses a three.
At the under 8:00 break, UK leads by six.
Kentucky is taking over now. Four straight after the timeout extends the lead to ten at 49-39. UK has the ball. Liggins scores to go up by 12. Ole Miss cals a time out.
Alabama awaits the winner. Looks like Kentucky so far. UK and Bama would be a good game. Another Ole Miss turn over. The wheels are coming off the Ole Miss wagon.
UK up by 10. Warren hits a three for Ole Miss. 51-44. If Warren can get hot...
Warren drives to the bucket and gets fouled. He will go to the line. He hits both. All of a sudden we have a game again. Nelson with a steal! He hits! Three point game! Kentucky 51 Ole Miss 48!
Harrellson starts the second half with a bucket. 38-29. Ole Miss then hits two free throws to cut it back to seven. UK calls a time out.
Lamb hits a three for UK, lead up to ten. Knight misses two free throws for UK. Nelson and Jones swap buckets. Nelson then misses a layup. A UK turnover leads to a fast break. Nelson converts, Jones fouls him. He hits the free throw. Miller hits a jumper. 45-36 UK.
Warren hits a three. 45-39 UK. 16:10 to play. UK turn over. Liggins with a block of Warren's three point attempt.
At the under 16:00 time out UK leads it by six.
Warren is now 0-5 as he misses another three. Lamb gets a bucket and gets fouled to put UK up 10. He misses the free throw. Warren hits his first three of the game. UK with a shot clock violation. Warren misses another three. UK will play for the last shot. Hod misses a three for UK
Halftime score Kentucky 36 Ole Miss 29.
If Ole Miss can get Chris Warren to start hitting in the second half, this one could get interesting.
Harrellson in the right place at the right time for UK, gets a bucket. Ole Miss answers. 27-21.
Lamb fouled driving the lane. Will shoot two. He hits one of two. 28-21 Kats.
Harrellson with another bucket. 30-21. Ole Miss to the line. Henry hits one of two. 30-22.
Knight misses a runner. Ole Miss ball. Warren goes to the line. He scores his first points of the game. 30-24 Kentucky. Harrellson with another bucket underneath. . Graham hits a fade away. Miller hits a jumper. UK up 8.
Warren can't buy one. UK might feel a bit uneasy that he has done nothing so far yet Ole Miss is still in the game.
Teams swap baskets. 21-17. Harrellson gets fouled and goes to the line. He hits both. 23-17 Kats. Rebels get a bucket underneath. Knight misses a three. Rebs ball. Rebels miss two chippies. Jones hits a runner. Nelson misses a three for Ole Miss. Jones drives and misses. Ball out of bounds to UK.
At the under 8:00 time out UK leads by six
Lamb drills a three to give UK a 10 point lead. Henry answers for the Rebels. Jones misses a three for UK. Graham hits one for Ole Miss. 14-10 Kats. Cal calls a time out.
The teams swap buckets to make it 16-12. Jones then misses. Henry drills a three. UK by one.
Lamb answers for UK. 19-15 Kats. Ole Miss charging foul.
Kentucky 19 Ole Miss 15 at the under 12:00 time out.
Kentucky controls the tip. Harrellson fouled. Hits one of two. Ol Miss misses. UK rebouind. Lamb gets a put back. 3-0 Kats.
Ole Miss fouled. Hits two free throws. Miller with a bucket. 5-2 UK. Ole Miss with another brick. Knight called for a charge. Uk gets the ball back off the Harrellson block. Miller hits a three. 8-2.
A goal tend gives UK a 10-2 lead. Looks like a blowout happening here. UK is here to play today.
Ole Miss hits a couple of free throws to make it 10-4. Jones drives to the hoop, gets fouled . Hits one of two. at eh under 16:00 time out. UK 11-4.
