Ottawa Senators: Has Ray Emery Run His Course?
The  Ottawa Senators and Ray Emery seem to be coming to a crossroads, Although having a successful season and playoffs last year, Emery is and has constantly been a team disruption. Beginning in his first season wearing the controversial helmet with Mike Tyson painted on it. The constant late shows during not just the regular season, but prime playoff runs. A vehicle accident and public meltdown. Although the talent potential is there to be a solid goaltender in this league, i cannot see Emery becoming or remaining a number one goaltender with a team of this caliber. The iron is hot to trade him away to one of the various teams who are in major need of goaltending help and receive a top line forward or defensive experience in return. This in my opinion is all the Sens are lacking to put them over the top and finally win the long awaited Stanley Cup which has not settled in Ottawa since the 1926 - 27 season.

With the talent Ottawa has waiting in the wings, they can certainly afford to bank on Martin Gerber who is a proven talent, but i feel is being disrupted by Emery as  well as is the rest of the team, and by John Paddocks back and forth choices trying to give one the incentive to be number one. I feel that case has well been proven by Mr. Gerber, He has been accused of questionable goaltending for a few games here and there, most recently the home and home Washington games. Lets be realistic, when 13 goals are scored in two games this is not a goaltending issue, this is a Team issue.

In closing trade Ray Emery while the potential is still there to put the last missing piece of the puzzle in place, for future Stanley Cup success, now and for years to come.
