Josh Beckett Will Not Start until Game Three

Alex PotterCorrespondent ISeptember 29, 2008

An earlier report stated that Josh Beckett, the 2007 Red Sox playoff iron horse, would not start until game three of the ALDS versus the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

What Does this Mean Exactly?

Well, let's get serious here for a moment: Red Sox Nation. Josh Beckett is not the same Josh Beckett we saw one year ago. He has been injury-plagued and half as dominant.

Are the Sox in Trouble?

Once again, let's get serious. As soon as we knew the Red Sox were playing the Angels, we knew they were in trouble. The Red Sox are 0-6 versus the Angels in 2008, including a home and away sweep.

What Can They Do to Win?

Simple. The Red Sox have two young and very prestigious starters in Daisuke Matsuzaka and Jon Lester. The two pitchers combined for 34 wins in 2007, making them one of the most effective duos in baseball.
