Alchemist Management president Lex McMahon remains steadfast in his desire to see Michael Bisping punished for his actions inside the Octagon at UFC 127. The incident took place on Feb. 27 at the Acer Arena in Sydney Australia.
Alchemist represents Jorge Rivera, Bisping's opponent at UFC 127.
During the first round of their fight, Bisping landed an illegal knee to the head of Rivera, which stunned Rivera and led to the cageside doctors entering the Octagon to examine him. The knee was deemed illegal due to the fact that it was landed while Rivera had both of his knees on the ground.
After a prolonged amount of time, Rivera stated he could continue. He was stopped later in the second round via TKO.
Following the stoppage, Bisping approached Rivera's corner and spit in the direction of his trainers.
Bisping later apologized for the spitting incident and stated that the knee to the head was unintentional.
In the days leading up to the fight, Bisping was furious with Rivera and his camp for YouTube videos that they had posted. Bisping found the videos insulting to him, his partner and his country.
In the days after the fight, both UFC president Dana White and UFC VP Marc Ratner stated that they thought the knee was illegal.

White said the following while being interviewed on Versus on Thursday, March 3:
“Michael Bisping’s in trouble right now. Michael Bisping’s a guy who I liked and have had a good relationship with since The Ultimate Fighter, but I’m very disappointed in the way he conducted himself during that fight. I think the knee was intentional. I think he did do it on purpose. He saw him in that position, looked at him, then threw the knee. Obviously, I don’t like what he did after the fight either. Mike and I still need to talk then I’ll figure out what’s next for Michael Bisping."
Recently, McMahon spoke to the Boston Herald about the incident.
"Mr. Bisping is a professional fighter. He needs to be able to differentiate between a downed opponent and a non-downed opponent,” McMahon said. “If he can’t do that, he needs to not be in this sport. His conduct was irrational, hot-headed and incredibly unprofessional.”
As far as what Alchemist would like to see done, “Mr. Bisping needs to be suspended and fined,” McMahon said. “Frankly, I wouldn’t be upset to see him thrown out of the UFC. His actions aren’t acceptable. If MMA is a growing sport, its fighters need to be role models. It’s one thing to promote a fight, but it’s an entirely different matter altogether to act in an unprofessional manner that places the health and welfare of a competitor in jeopardy.”
No word has been forthcoming in regard to any punishment for Bisping.
