Liverpool have managed their best start to a league campaign in eleven years now and Fernando Torres has stated that her has only just got his act together. Torres terrorised the Toffees on Saturday with a double in just three minutes. Torres could have had his hat-trick but a goal was disallowed by Mike Riley for an unknown reason, im still confused! Before Saturdays game at Everton, Torres had gone six games without scoring, the longest period in which he hasn't scored for Liverpool, but restored confidence to the Liverpool Faithful with a double that shocked the blue side of Merseyside.
Liverpool find themselves joint first with Chelsea on 14 points , managing 4 wins and 2 draws. Everything looks really good on the red side of Merseyside however this feeling is way too familiar with Liverpool supporters as Liverpool had a similar start last season and ended up scraping fourth place just ahead of rivals Everton. Benitez has placed much emphasis on Liverpool needing to keep focus the entire season and only if they keep up their good performances till january will they be realistic title contenders. Rafa has made some impressive signings buying fullbacks Dossena and Degen to give Liverpool a more attacking edge, also Liverpool have signed Albert Riera who had a blinder of a debut in the 2-1 win against Man Utd, where he gave confidence to all Liverpool supporters emphasizing the fact that we have been lacking a pacey left winger. Record Signing this season Robbie Keane has yet to get of the mark with Liverpool however has had some impressive performances, and with the immense quality of Robbie Keane its only a matter of time til lhe puts the ball behind the net.
Liverpool i personally feel have a team very capable of winning the premiership this season but consistency is needed. Liverpool lost less games than Man Utd last season yet they finished 11 points adrift just showing that Liverpool need to turn all those draws into wins. They have an amazing striking force so goals shouldn't be hard to come by. Lets hope Liverpool are consistent this season
