Cubs to Face Dodgers in Round One after Loss to Brewers
While Aramis Ramirez couldn't help the Cubs pull out a win Sunday, the Cubs are getting ready to face the Dodgers in the NLDS, which will begin on Wednesday.
Ramirez led off the second inning with a single, then reached third on an error by Prince Fielder, and scored when Ronny Cedeno beat out a double play ball to score the only Cubs run of the game.
The Cubs had a slew of pitchers get work in Sunday's game while the Brewers started C.C. Sabathia in hopes of making it to the playoffs.
Milwaukee's plan worked.
With the win, the Brewers ousted the Mets from the playoffs. They will face the Phillies in the first round.
Bob Howry got the loss after giving up a two-run homer to Ryan Braun in the bottom of the eighth inning.
The Cubs will have two days off before opening the playoffs at home against the Dodgers. Ryan Dempster will start game one.
