Everyone said I was crazy when my 2008/09 Premier League prediction table was announced.
The reason? I went out on a limb and predicted that Hull City would finish 11th. Ahead of Newcastle, West Ham, Middlesbrough, Sunderland and many more.
Now, six games in, Hull have made sure the vast majority of football fans are experiencing the taste of humble pie.
Of course, it is still very early on in the season. Six games gone means that there is 32 games left, in which Hull could fall from a European place to a relegation place.
But I don't see that happening.
I said at the start of the season that Hull could have a season similar to that of Reading when they first came up, and it looks like that could be happening.
Similar never-say-die performances, and tireless work effort have seen Hull gain 11 points from their first six Premier League games, including wins against Newcastle and Arsenal.
The main reason I thought Hull would do so well is because of their fantastic transfer dealings during the summer. I earmarked George Boateng and Geovanni as the best two, and the latter certainly hasn't disappointed.
They are currently above the likes of Blackburn, Portsmouth, Wigan, and Everton, not to mention both halves of Manchester.
If Hull can keep this up, then a superb first season is in the offing for Phil Brown and co. They may soon find themselves fighting against the "second-season syndrome".
