It's the final regular season game of the season folks, as the Indiana Hoosiers travel three hours to the "other" Assembly Hall and face the Orange Crush and the Illinois Fighting Illini. The Hoosiers are 12-18 on the season, while the Illini are fighting for a possible NCAA Tournament berth with a current record of 18-12.
Today's game should be a great one folks—feel free to follow along as I Live Blog the game from the comfy confines of my home.
The game is on the Big Ten Network, and you can listen to the game on www.WIUX.org (Indiana Student Radio broadcast—they have a great crew up there today).
Hulls misses another shot. 62-33 Illinois now. This game keeps getting worse
Paul hits both shots. Then next time down the court after a huge block, Jeremy Richmond dunks home an alley oop. But he gets a technical foul for celebrating. Watford his both technical free throws.
11:59 left in the game. Still 55-31. Brandon Paul going to the line
Will Indiana score 50 points today? Thats the question we are all asking. 55-31 now.
Pritchard with a good foul to force Paul to go to the line instead of get the easy layup.
Jeremiah Rivers just threw a pass at Pritchards feet. Pretty much sums up the day.
54-31 Illini with 14 left to go. Hulls just threw the ball away. 0 points in the game so far, very frustrated.
VJ 3 with a fantastic spin move and layup off the glass. 51-29 now.
Watford with a silly traveling violation. Murphy's law today for the Hoosiers
Indiana not much better this half so far. 51-27 now Illinois has the lead.
And McCamey nails a 2. 48-27
Watford misfires a three.
2nd half begins, Sheehey into the ball game to start the 2nd half.
Illinois cant convert in the final 10 seconds, but they have a 19 point lead at the half. 46-27
Indiana with some good d, but ball goes off Hulls' hands, Illinois has another chance.
Sheehey hits another one, 46-27 Illinois leads.
2 straight possessions in a row for Illinois have come up empty. Sheehey hit a layup a moment ago. 46-25 with just over a minute.
Indiana trying zone now....after 18 minutes of man to man.
Indiana has hit just 9 shots, 2 of them three's and just 3/4 free throws.
Illinois has hit 19 shots, including 5 three's already.
46-23 Illinois 2:47 left to go in the first half. Under 4 media time out. Illinois could even have over 50 if they had hit a couple more shots. Pretty ridiculous.
I need to find the stats, but it seems like Illinois has scored on almost all of their posessions. Indiana's defense didnt make the trip up to Champaign today.
Tisdale with a block on one end, and then Pritchard just seconds later with a block from behind. He has had some nice moments today.
Watford at the foul line, after being fouled on a layup. Only hits the first shot. Tisdale then hits a wide open 3. 44-21 Illinois.
Indiana shooting just 36.4 percent at the moment. Illinois shooting over 67 percent. Huge reason why the margin is 22. Illinois leads 42-20.
