UFC on Versus 3 Results: Brian Bowles vs. Damacio Page
Former WEC bantamweight champion Brian Bowles made his UFC debut on Thursday March 3rd. Bowles had not fought since losing his title to Dominick Cruz on March 6th of last year. Bowles severely damaged his hand in that fight and lost via doctor stoppage.
Damacio Page's last fight was a third round submission loss to Demetrious Johnson at WEC 52.
These two fighters met before in 2008 with Bowles scoring a first round submission victory in that fight.
Page came out fast and hard in this fight, fighting a wide open style that while crowd pleasing may leave a fighter open to damage.
As the round progressed Bowles landed an uppercut that hurt Page. Bowles dropped Page and swarmed him teeing off and transitioning that into a guillotine choke. Page refuses to tap and goes limp as Bowles says to the ref, "he's out."
Time of the technical submission by guillotine choke is exactly the same as the first fight between these two 3:30 of round one.
Bowles moves to 9-1 while Page falls to 15-6.
