Talk Is The English Game.
Theo Walcott has been an impressive player since he completed his move for a massive £5m to Arsenal.
The teenage winger was impressive in last year's Champions League match against Liverpool.
Although Arsenal lost on the night and exited the competition, Walcott made a Maradona-style run into the Liverpool area that led to an Arsenal goal.
But Walcott rose to gain the sudden reputation of a national hero after scoring a hat-trick against Croatia.
Walcott scored a hat-trick against a good national side that England just couldn't beat before that night. Then, out of nowhere, England win 4-1 thanks for this new "sensation".
Does that remind you of someone?
Who thinks Michael Owen is a sensational player? (Complete silence)
Who thought Owen was a great player after scoring a hat-trick against Germany in 2001? (Complete chaos as everyone raises their hands and yells, "me, me, me!")
Walcott does have the great skill, the speed, the finishing, and definitely the momentum. But so did Owen a couple of years back...(and they both can't reach a top shelf).
Will Theo Walcott be the new Michael Owen? Or will Walcott maintain his tag as "national hero"?
