Mike Bibby: Veteran Guard Set to Join Miami Heat?
Mike Bibby Reportedly Could be Headed to the Miami Heat to Chase a Championship.
In the matter of a week's time, veteran point guard Mike Bibby has seen himself traded from a contender in the Atlanta Hawks to a non-contender in the Washington Wizards, and now he could be headed back to a top contender in the Miami Heat.
Several Miami Heat players, including LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, have reportedly said they expect Bibby to land with the Heat after he clears waivers on Wednesday.
The Heat have already cleared a roster spot for him after releasing Carlos Arroyo.
Of course, this would be a huge move for the Heat, who already are bumping up with the Boston Celtics as the Beast in the East with James, Wade, and Chris Bosh.
You add a veteran like Bibby who knows how to play the game and has appeared in 80 postseason games throughout his 13-year career, you're only bolstering what looks to be a strong playoff team.
Via the AP:
"If Mike is coming here soon, which we all believe, he's going to help us out tremendously," James said.
If the Heat pull this off, it would undoubtedly reverberate throughout the league, especially with the Celtics oddly trading big man Kendrick Perkins by the deadline.
It would give the team yet another offensive weapon for its arsenal, Bibby being a player that noticeably produces when the game is on the line.
With Bibby on the floor, forget about worrying who will take the last shot between James and Wade.
Opponents will have to worry about Bibby in the corner.
