UFC 127 Results: Brian Ebersole Defeats Chris Lytle
Ebersole returned to the cartwheel kick to open the final round and it had about the same effect, which is to say none that is positive.
Lytle took advantage to tenderize Ebersole with a few blows before opting for a few submission attempts that culminated in yet another tight guillotine attempt. Again, however, Brian showed excellent escapability and rolled out of danger.
Even after a momentary stoppage while Ebersole's mouthpiece was retrieved and replaced, Lytle looked badly gassed and that probably cost him the bout.
He was game as usual, but he was throwing punches with nothing on them and from no position to land while Bad Boy utilized a variety of techniques—including a highly effective Muay Thai clinch—to damage and disorient Lights Out Lytle. You never know what the judges are going to do, but I give that last round to Bad Boy 10-9 by a pretty clear margin.
And the second one was even more of a romp so I give him a pretty safe unanimous decision.
That's what it is.
Brian Ebersole defeats Chris Lytle by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28; Fight of the Night).
