Phoenix Suns Reportedly Won't Trade Jared Dudley

Despite being in the hunt for the last Playoff spot in the West, the Suns have been a hot topic and even rumored sellers today.

But it's sounding more and more like the Suns will stand pat today. Earlier today, the Suns said they won't trade Steve Nash and now David Aldridge of NBA.com is reporting a team source told him the Suns won't trade Jared Dudley, which is a blow to teams like Chicago and Boston, who were reportedly interested in Dudley.

The Suns are in a tricky position in that they're not out of the Playoff race in the West by any means but the Championship window is definitely closing on them. Plus, considering Chicago and Boston were interested, it would've been worth the Suns' time to at least listen, although I'm not sure if the Celtics could've offered anything of substance.

But the Bulls, who are looking to make some sort of deal today, would've been a good fit for Dudley. It also might've opened up other possibilities for the Bulls, who are clearly interested in trying to acquire Courtney Lee out of Houston according to reports.

ESPN notes that Dudley is a restricted free agent at the end of the season, so I would think he'd get offer sheets depending on what the labor situation is. We don't know for sure why the Suns look to be holding on to Dudley (other than being a key role player of course), so it's not out of the realm of possibility that no team was able to blow the Suns away with an offer.

But it's looking like the Suns won't be open for business today.
