Caltech: Cheer Up Cleveland Cavaliers It Could Be a Lot Worse
Caltech Snaps a 310-Game Losing Skid Making Cavs Fans Blow a Sigh of Relief
The losses continued to mount for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Cavs fans began to weep into their burnt and tattered LeBron James jerseys. The losing streak that seemed would never end, finally did for the worst team in the NBA. The magic number was 26.
I submit to you sorrowful Cavs fan. It could be worse, so, so much worse. Forget 26 games, how about 26 years? That is how long it has been since the last conference win for the basketball program at Caltech.
The scene after Caltech took down Occidental resembled a title game. Head coach Oliver Eslinger told the LA Times, "Tonight's win is a testament to the hard work each member of this team, the alumni and the supporters have put into this program. I hope that everyone who has participated in Caltech men's basketball is able to celebrate a little bit tonight"
Testament to hard work? How about the simple law of averages. If you keep chucking a ball at the rim you are bound to have it go in.
Playing in conference for 26 years, you are bound to catch someone on an off night. I really feel bad for the crew from Occidental. How can they even show their faces outside anymore?
Try as I might, I have been unable to find any word on a parade going through the greater Pasadena area following the huge victory.
