NBA Trade Rumors Are in Overdrive After Today's Blockbuster, But Were There Other Teams in the Bidding?
According to Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports, the Charlotte Bobcats called the Jazz about Deron Williams before he was traded to the New Jersey Nets.
Spears also said that we should be keeping our eyes on Boris Diaw as we get closer to the trade deadline. It's no secret that Charlotte would like to make a move at the deadline.
Spears says the team wants to be aggressive on the market and reports came out yesterday that the Bobcats are shopping Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace, with the latter more likely to be moved by tomorrow.
The Bobcats aren't going to win anything with this group as it stands right now, so it's wise to try and start over and get something new going there in Charlotte. Neither Jackson or Wallace are franchise guys, but would make sense as a second option somewhere.
A team like Dallas would be a good fit, but it remains to be seen if the Mavericks will take the bait.
This has been an insane trade deadline—this comes after people were worried that it might be a little bit slow this year, with the Carmelo Anthony situation dominating the headlines. Well, now it's turned into a flurry of news, and I'm sure NBA fans everywhere couldn't be happier with that.
