NBA Trade Rumors: Are Sacramento and New Orleans Close to a Deal?
NBA Trade Rumors Swirl as a Deal Gets Closer Between Sacramento and New Orleans
Carl Landry could be on the move, according ESPN.com's Marc Stein. Landry would head to New Orleans for Marcus Thornton and cash.
Originally, the deal was reported as being Thornton and David Andersen, but Andersen has been taken out of the trade talks. Landry would be a guy that would fill the void that New Orleans has looked to fill on the trade market for some time now.
Antawn Jamison was the first name floated out there for the Hornets, but that will never happen because of his salary number, which makes moving him difficult. New Orleans needs some extra size up front to rotate with David West, and Landry is a very solid player.
He will come in, give you solid, productive minutes and be one of those glue guys that always help a team win big games. This move won't make the Hornets a contender in the Western Conference, but it's certainly a wise move, and could help New Orleans make a deep run into the playoffs if the pieces fall into place.
That depends on the health of Chris Paul and the consistency of the team, which has been lacking at times this year. However, when New Orleans is on fire, it is very, very hard to beat them, and that's what makes them a threat come playoff time.
