Jarno Trulli Fined for Driving Clockwise on an Anti-Clockwise Track

Jarno Trulli spun at the final corner of practice at Singapore today.

Finally coming to a halt, Trulli was facing the wrong way; instead of spinning the car and continuing the lap, which is what he should have done, Trulli decided to drive back up the track the wrong way to get back to the pit entrance.

The distance was about 200 meters to the pit entrance, but Trulli drove about 50 meters to the first open area between the track and pitlane, which meant crossing the white line. This has resulted in him being reprimanded and fined 10,000 Euros (£7,500).

Trulli wasn't the only driver to spin at turn 23. Heikki Kovalainen and Rubens Barichello also spun. However, Heikki continued the lap, and Rubens Barichello's Honda sustained damage and had to be craned out of the track.
