There are plenty of things that I envy about Carmelo Anthony: his super smooth jump shot, his ability to dunk and his bank account balance.
One thing I don't envy is the ludicrous hullabaloo that Anthony has been subjected to over the past several months.
It must have been refreshing to sit down with Conan O'Brien and have some fun with his ongoing trade drama. With the trade deadline only three days away, Anthony knew it would all be over soon, but admitted that the stress of the situation is a lot to take. He seemed relaxed and was an accommodating guest for O'Brien to harass.
'Melo said all the right things but still was open and funny. Saying that he would like to have the "Denver Omelette" was the right thing to do. Anthony does have some control over where he ends up, but he can't force a trade. Backing himself into a corner by trashing Denver could have backfired immensely.
I have to say that Anthony has handled his whole saga with class. It's good to see he gets to go where he wants to and Denver got some good returns in the trade.
Another thing that I don't envy about Anthony is having been caught wearing a Snuggie.
Sorry, 'Melo, but there just isn't an excuse to be wearing one. The Nuggets didn't have a team coat or sweatshirt available? There were better options than wrapping up in a blanket with sleeves.
