Jon Lester's Almost No-No Lifts Sox

Mark RussoContributor ISeptember 26, 2008

Jon Lester flirted with his second career no-hitter last night through five against the tribe last night.  With his 16th win of the season, Lester managed to strike out four and only walk one.

He has been an absolute stud this year for the Red Sox and has bailed them out multiple times this season.  The first four hitters of the lineup combined to go 7-14 with four RBI.

The thing that impressed me the most last night was Masterson, Okajima, and Papelbon coming in and shutting out the tribe for three consecutive innings without giving up a hit.  With most of the nation questioning the Red Sox bullpen, this should be a big morale booster for the pitching staff.

Also, with Mike Lowell on the way back to the lineup we should prepare to see a fully healthy Red Sox lineup for the first time in a while.

And I always like to end with a good old YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUK!
