WWE Monday Night Raw Preview: Cena Responds to Rock, The Undertaker Returns?

Micheal Robinson@nyyrobinsonSenior Analyst IIFebruary 21, 2011

One night removed from the Elimination Chamber, WWE Monday Night Raw comes to us from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, CA.

One week after The Rock's surprising return, John Cena is expected to comment on what Rock had to say about him.

John Cena is also scheduled to face The Miz now at WrestleMania 27, after Miz retained against Jerry Lawler and Cena survived the Chamber match.

Let's remember one thing before we start taking sides here: John Cena is the one who started all of this stuff with The Rock.

Cena made the following comments to The Sun back in February of 2008:

"He (The Rock) is a genuinely nice guy and a fantastic human being. What I kind of get peeved about, and this is my Achilles heel, is that I've wanted to do this my whole life. Rock falls into that category. At one point he loved wrestling and wanted to do this all his life.

So explain to me why he can't come back for our 15th anniversary show or why he can't make an appearance at WrestleMania. I wish he'd just show up, say hi and leave. Do the eyebrow once and get out of town.

Simply put it's because he wants to be an actor and there's nothing wrong with that, because he's truly found another passion. He's good at acting. His films make money.  Associating with sports entertainment doesn't do much for his acting career. I get it.

Just don't f*** me around and tell me that you love this.  That's the only thing that gets me really p***ed off.  Our fan base have so much admiration for him, he's got to respect that. He doesn't give anything back."

A lot of people may not realize that Cena said those things, but he did, and it was real.

I don't know why The Rock owes us anything. The Rock is a man of his word; he said he would come back when the time was right, and he is back.

I was never mad at The Rock for leaving wrestling and going into movies, the only thing that ever upset me is the fact that he didn't want to be called The Rock anymore, which he retracted.

That kinda hurt, but other than that I was always hoping he would come back, but couldn't be mad at him for it.

Cena really screwed up making these comments and he is really lucky that The Rock is actually answering to them on TV.

You have to realize that Cena made these comments outside of the WWE scene to a paper, while The Rock actually plays off it on national TV on his return.

That just shows you what kind of guy The Rock is; he is actually rewarding Cena for making those comments three years ago by giving him the time of day and a chance to feud with one of the greatest of all time.

There is no word if Rock will be in the arena tonight, but since they are still out on the West Coast in California, it wouldn't surprise me if he was there.

Cena made the following comments on Twitter this morning in reference to Raw tonight and responding to The Rock:

"CeNation. Handled business last night. Tonight I will see what we do about the rock. If he wants some...come get some."

"This could be very interesting."

"Ps..grabbed a spare steel chain and lock off the elimination chamber just in case...gotta go now. Big peek a boo tournament b4 raw :)"

Of course, Cena is referring to The Rock making fun of his "You can't see me" hand gesture.

Last night, at the Elimination Chamber, Cena was eating Fruity Pebbles backstage.

I like where this is going, but I wish Cena would come up with something juicy instead of just responding to what The Rock said about him.

The fact that Cena said he was coming with a chain and a lock from the Chamber, could he possibly come out in his old rapper gimmick tonight?  That would be a sight to see.

If Cena starts taking big shots at The Rock, this could lead to something bigger then we think.

I don't think Rock is having a match this year, but I do think he will be inside of that ring during the WWE Championship match, most likely as the Special Enforcer for Cena's bout with WWE Champion Miz.

As far as next year goes, I will never rule out a possible bout with Cena and Rock at WrestleMania 28 in Miami—it's too perfect of a scene setting for the two in Rock's hometown.

Meanwhile, while this Rock/Cena saga is going on, the 2.21.11 promo is finally coming to an end tonight after three weeks of teaser clips on Raw.

Rumors ran wild that Sting could be coming to the WWE, but those died down fast after The Rock was announced as the WrestleMania 27 guest host and all attention turned away from the 2.21.11 teasers.

One thing that I have noticed is that there seems to be two figures during these promos, one on the inside of the house and one on the outside.

I do think The Undertaker is returning tonight; there is not definite evidence to prove this, but I think there is something there.

The Undertaker has made many returns to WWE after leaving for personal reasons and injuries, but never like this; I think there is more to it.

Could The Undertaker come out tonight with another mysterious figure to come after him?  It is very possible.

Sting is a long shot, but that would be epic to say the least.

Either way, we need to find out who Undertaker's opponent is at WrestleMania 27 soon and tonight could be the night.  Should be interesting either way.

It is hard to follow up last week's Raw and I don't think it will, but I do think every Raw from now until Mania in Atlanta will be worth watching.

I'm telling you, it seems like there are two different people in the teaser videos.
