Daytona 500 Start Time: Can Dale Earnhardt Jr Win the Daytona 500?
Daytona 500 Start Time Schedule and the Chances Dale Earnhardt Jr Can Win Daytona.
Tomorrow marks the 10th anniversary of Dale Earnhardt's tragic death after crashing in the 2001 Daytona 500.
His son, Dale Earnhardt Jr., looks to make his mark and win the whole thing, starting at 1 p.m. EST.
After winning the pole position in qualifying runs, Earnhardt Jr. lost it in the blink of an eye Wednesday after crashing on a practice run.
Not only will he have to start at the back of the pack in the Daytona, he'll also have to do so with a backup car.
Now the question is, can he pull it off?
Well, if history is any indication, Earhardt Jr. has a decent shot, given he finished second and fourth in the prestigious race last year.
And although he certainly doesn't start off in front, remember that he made a remarkable charge from the back of the pack to finish second last year.
He's still one of the best restrictor-plate racers in the game.
Of course, Earnhardt Jr. will have to deal with the distraction of playing on the 10th anniversary of his dad's death, certainly no easy feat.
But it could also serve as a motivator for Earnhardt Jr.
If he pulls it off this year, it would be one of his most emotional wins of his career.
