Kimi Raikkonen to Play Follow the Leader?

AnthonyCorrespondent ISeptember 25, 2008

Scuderia Ferrari have announced prior to this weekend's inaugural Singapore GP that Kimi will do whatever it takes to help the team win both championships.

I quite frankly feel that Ferrari are playing a chess game with McLaren, If Lewis Hamilton and McLaren discount Ferrari's will to back Kimi, Ferrari will absolutely kick Hamilton's teeth in. Kimi, while still in the championship hunt, has nothing to lose and everything to gain.

If Massa actually, but doubtfully, has come up with a solution concerning the mechanical grip, Ferrari will rule Singapore wet or dry, day or night.

All of the F1 circus are going into Singapore with high downforce packages similar to Hungary or Monaco. Massa ruled both events until failures mechanically or tactically stopped inevitable victories.

I don't think Ferrari have cured their engine issues, hence the change at Monza for Massa. If Massa was having traction issues at Monza, chances are his engine overrevved and took a hammering.

If he has to swap out his engine between Singapore to Brazil, his cards have already been dealt, foolishly, by Ferrari at Monza.

This is going to be a fantastic four-race finish to the championship.
