The New York Knicks have sent a new trade proposal to the Denver Nuggets for All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony. The new deal was sent to the Nuggets after they had tentatively agreed to a deal with the New Jersey Nets, which hinges on Anthony agreeing to a new extension.
The Knicks upped the offer by including Danilo Gallinari, who would replace Landry Fields and Timofey Mozgov. He would go to Denver with Wilson Chandler, Eddy Curry, Raymond Felton and a first-rounder, which is expected to be acquired in a trade involving Anthony Randolph. The Knicks gave the Nuggets a choice of either Fields or Gallinari, and the Nuggets prefer Gallinari. Chauncey Billups would also go to New York.
New York has always been the desired destination of Anthony, who expressed his desire for a trade during the offseason.
Speculation is that Anthony will meet with both owners to discuss extensions over the All-Star Weekend.
